🚦Race Status

Open: a race is OPEN once the creator launches the race. A race transitions from OPEN to LIVE if there are at least 2 racers at the end of the open window, or if and when all 7 lanes are filled (including creator). A race transitions from OPEN to CANCELED if no one other than the race creator joins within 600 blocks (~2.5 hours).

Live: if a race successfully starts, it is LIVE for 60 blocks total (~15 minutes).

Completed: a race is considered COMPLETED after those 60 blocks, at which point a winner is revealed. For ~200 blocks (~50min) after a race has COMPLETED, racers have the ability to finalize the race (learn more about finalizing races here). If a race is successfully finalized within that window, the race is considered CLOSED and won XP is calculated and distributed. Otherwise, the race is considered EXPIRED and no XP is earned.

Closed: a race is considered CLOSED once it has been finalized. This indicates that XP has been distributed to the winning racers.

Canceled: a race is CANCELED if no racers join during the OPEN period. CANCELED races cannot be joined and cannot progress.

Expired: a COMPLETED race is considered EXPIRED 200 blocks (~50min) after the race is COMPLETED if no one finalizes the race. If a race is EXPIRED, no XP has been distributed to the winners of the race.
